Efficiency in a Company’s Management – What Importance Does it Have?
Today, companies must continually improve to remain competitive in any market.
We’ve had the opportunity to visit a great number of companies and have realized that continuous improvement is not something that is well mastered by all. More often than not, decisions lack depth, are taken too quickly, too late or impulsively.
The implementation of continuous improvement requires the following:
1. Management’s full commitment;
2. Staff’s involvement in the process;
3. Structure in the company’s activities and processes;
4. The processes must be well defined and written in a management manual available to all;
5. The processes must be respected, monitored, reviewed and analysed to determine their effectiveness;
6. The processes must be determined and used by both the company’s management and employees;
7. The processes must be simple, practical and well know by both the management and employees;
8. Simplicity must be preconized for continuous improvement decisions;
9. Decisions relative to continuous improvement should consider waste, loss of time and any other processes that don’t add value;
10. Every continuous improvement project must be carried out to the end and analyzed in order to determine its effectiveness.
In short, companies that are well organized and continuously improve are leaders of their respective markets and they are more often than not in a good position and there to stay.
Implementing a recognized management system is a good way for a company to structure itself and stay competitive by continuously improving their processes.
